Presto! Introduces NuVal® Nutritional Scoring System

Presto! Neighborhood Market has launched the NuVal® Nutritional Scoring System into their store as a nutritional guidance tool to help their customers quickly see the nutritional value of food they buy.

NuVal Nutritional Scoring System was developed by a team of recognized nutrition and medical experts, led by Dr. Katz of Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center. NuVal Scores are powered by a sophisticated scientific algorithm that takes into account more than 30 nutrient and nutrition factors, in addition to their effects on health outcomes. 

 

Shoppers of Presto! will be offered the opportunity to use the NuVal system to:

 

  • Quickly and easily identify the most nutritious products by a simple score found right on the shelf tag.  Scores range from 1 to 100; the higher the score the better the nutrition.
  • Share nutrition information with their families that is backed by the U.S.’ best nutrition experts, who researched and developed the NuVal System.
  • Get more nutrition for their budget, as shoppers can do side-by-side comparisons to determine which product offers the best nutrition and price value.
